Na Arun…Gourmet Healthy Dining in a Home of Yore

Bangkok has been named a favorite world-class tourist destination for the past four years. It’s evolved into a premier cosmopolitan capital, dynamic and exciting. But still amidst the action of Sukhumvit, you can discover quiet enclaves, much like in the past.

Ariyasom Villa boutique hotel, a delightful home nestled in a lush garden on Sukhumvit Soi 1 built during the World War II era is such a place. Now restored, it is also the venue for Na Arun where you can enjoy fine dining amidst the quaint ambiance of Bangkok 70 years ago.

The ceiling is high and shuttered windows tall to provide caressing natural ventilation. Built in 1942, the home has become part of Bangkok's rich heritage now much harder to experience. The atmosphere is cozy, and the décor has been meticulously appointed to create a serene ambience in which to enjoy the wide selection of healthy organic vegetarian cuisine.

All the dishes are prepared with organic vegetable oil and soy sauce and no artificial flavors or colors are added. Every dish is prepared with loving care, as here they believe that the way the food is prepared is as important as the ingredients. In addition to the vegetarians selections, the restaurant also serves organic meat dishes for the carnivores.

Some of the favorite dishes include Yam Som-O (Hot & Sour Pamelo Salad) and Fried Minced Tuna Salad as well as a spicy ground salmon dip. The menu also includes traditional Thai desserts as well as homemade Apple Crumble a la mode.

If you do want a quiet cozy haven while visiting Bangkok, you might also consider staying at the Ariyasom Villa. While it offers convenient access to Bangkok’s best shopping as well as tourist attractions, it provides the quiet solitude to rejuvenate and enjoy a delicious meal at Na Arun.

Open: 6.30 a.m. – 10.30 p.m.

How to get there

Na Arun is located at the Ariyasom Villa boutique hotel at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 1, which is just 650 meters from the Ploengit BTA Station, which is just one stop from Chitlom and two from Siam, the heart of Bangkok’s fashionable shopping.
