9 am Monks arrive at wedding location
9.10 am Wedding guests are lead by procession from their villas by a traditional long drum parade The bridal couple are escorted to their wedding location
9.30 am Wedding coup;e arrives and are greeted by friends, well wishers and representatives The Racha. The couple are draped with garlands. Groom presents a bouquet to his bride.
9.40 am Wedding party is seated. The bridal couple are invited to light ceremonial candles and joss sticks
9.50 am The ceremony begins with prayers by the monks
10.30 am Relatives and/or friends place a holy thread on the couple’s head, symbolizing their joining together
Their foreheads are marked with poeder for good luck and a prosperous future
The couple offer donations and gifts (Sung-Katan) to the monks
The wedding party receive a final blessing of holy water. The monks depart
10.50 am The wedding couple proceed to the Thai-style wedding altar where they are blessed by all in attendance
Every guest pours spiritual water over their hands and wishes the couple well for their wedding lives together
The couple may choose to exchange wedding rings at this time
11 am Cutting of wedding cake & toasting with Champagne
